The above facsimile engine stamping contains the following information, 1. Engine Asembly plant code, 2. Production Date,
and 3. the Engine Suffix Code.
The first letter ALWAYS designates the engine plant. In 1958 All engines were built at either Flint, MI or Tonawanda,
NY. In the example above the T designates Tonawanda Assembly an F in the first position would designate Flint Assembly.
The next two numbers designate the month in which the engine was built. The following two numbers designate the actual
day the engine was built. in the example this engine would have been built on August 19. NOTE; In 1958 the Month Code could
be either one or two numbers to designate the month, example January could be represented as 1 or 01.
The Engine Suffix code is either 1 or two letters and these tell what application the engine would be used in. Use the
